Can anybody give me some info on the following.

I have got a lot of pictures stored in folders in the My Pictures folder. Some of these folders contain a file titled 'Description' which shows as a 'Ghost' image as opposed to a 'solid' image. When I look at it, it tells me Type: ION File & Size: 0 Bytes. This file was not placed there by me and does not appear to be detrimental to the running of the system (Windows ME). I am just curious as to how it got there and what it is.

Hello Compass Call,

Welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!

Hopefully this might help you to get your bearings! :D

Descriptions: Free form text associated with a file. Using certain ACD Systems products such as ACD. See picture viewer you can add descriptions to files. File descriptions are stored in a hidden file called descript.ion. One descript.ion file is generated for each folder that contains files with descriptions.

Thanks Whyzman,
I have been using ACD SEE to view the folders/files.
