LCD Monitor For Graphics Apps

People,

About to buy a new PC; & had my hopes up for including a 19" LCD Monitor. Along comes an article in PC World that suggests LCD's do not have the quality display resolution capabilities of a CRT, when it comes to working with image editing & graphic illustration apps.

I do quite a bit of work in Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator; & now I'm concerned, because, of course, what you see on the screen effects decisions made on your work.

So my question is: Is this true? And is the difference in display detail negligible or astronomical?

In my house we work with alot of photos and to tell you the truth they look alot better with the lcd [Samsumg 191t] then they ever did with a crt. No angle distortions and great color. This is with a analog hookup also. Some people will say different but from my own experience I love my 19 inch lcd.

How old was the article you read?? That used to be true of LCD monitors, but my understanding is that they have surpassed CRTs for graphics. I use an LCD myself and I have found it to be far superior from day one...

Now tho, I'm a little uncertain. Some folks at another Board suggested that color display & rapid motion was not as realistic on an LCD as on a Flat Screen CRT.

The best way is to go look with your own eyes. I had a 17 inch flat screen before this lcd and it was not even close. But thats me, all the tests and articles don't mean a thing unless you see it for yourself.

I have read that pc world article and find that they are behind the times on some issues. I play dvds and as I said do alot of photo work and my Samsung has been much better than my crt was. Just my opinion:D :D
