I want to get a hard drive cooler for my WD Special Edition 120 G 7,200 RPM 8 MB Cache.
Any suggestions? Opinions? Experiences?

Maybe an opinion :)
If you have good case cooling you shouldn't need a harddrive cooler....

I've got a ThermalTake Xaser III case. But while installing Windows XP ( See http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21384 ), I noticed that the hard drive does get pretty warm and this is with both case sides open.

Here is a (free) utility that reads the temperature of your harddrive (if your drive supports temperature monitoring).

Next step then is to find the recommended operating temperature for that drive....

I have seen adapters to set up a hard drive in a 5.25 inch bay and they have fans installed in them. However, I have set up my hard drives to sit right in front of the intake fans in the front of my case and I suspect that will cool them well. If you can put a fan in the lower front of your case and behind the hard drives, that might be the best solution.

You can find dual fan HDD coolers at just about any online computer parts vendor. These are the type that bolt right to the underside of the HDD. I run them on all my systems.
Here's a sample of what I'm talking about:

Actually, that one looks like a real nice choice.
