I've noticed that the text that is displayed on the center of my monitor screen is slightly burry. At first I thought is was my eyes going bad but a buddy of mine confirmed that it was burry in the center 1/3rd of the screen. The text on the left and right side of the screen is clear.
I have a VeiwSonic A70 17" and is only about 2 years old.
Any idea what could be going on??
Thanks,
Jason

Not sure what is going on, but I know the resolution on a CRT video screen will tend to vary across the surface of the screen. That said, I would try a degauss and see if that helps. I would also make sure there are no strong magnetic or electronic field sources too close, like speakers. I assume you have already tried adjusting the monitor settins??
Also some monitors have externally accessible focus controls either through the choices in the setup OSD (the little multifunction buttons on the front) or a knob on the back. It would be best to use a test pattern, but in a pinch you can use some text that fills the whole screen. You probably won't be able to get it perfect, but you should be able to ger it acceptable across the entire screen.

Well Budfred, I am a little embarrassed to tell you that my contrast was maxed out. So I backed it off and now I can see again. Thanks once again...
