I bought my computer almost one year ago. Recently, it would occasionally shut down power by itself. As that didn't happen very often, I didn't pay much attention to it. But things begin to get worse soon after: my system can not boot up! After I turn on the power, I can hear the CPU fan and HD running, but that's all! No beep, no display...just nothing.
My RAM and video card are both ok, now I'm wondering what would be wrong, CPU or motherboard?

Hmm, I had the same problem (nothing happened at all), the sollution though was to temporarily remove the cmos-battery from the motherboard.

Hi Franzf. If you have proven the RAM and Video are not the problem.... My feeling would to be going after a weak power supply first, as your problem graduated from annoying at first to something more serious. (Heat SEEMED to play a part in all of this) Is the fan for the PSU hummin'? Then go after the CPU as the culprit. To include the heatsink/fan. And the correct assembly there of. Luck.

......Indecision may or may not be my problem......
