I've got a Master and a Slave drives both jumped, plugged to IDE1 working normally.
Then I just jack off from IDE 1 and plug in to IDE 2.
Then I autodetect Secondary master and slave devices in BIOS
And then-the system refuses to boot asking for a boot drive.
What's the prob?

I'm pretty sure you have to boot off of the master or primary IDE controller......
You may the option in the BIOS to swap the IDE channels for boot purposes. In my BIOS I can choose between IDE0 (primary)or IDE1 (secondary).

Check the BIOS’s hardware configuration settings for the IDE controllers and HDD’s, especially the one that enables the secondary IDE controller [you won’t get any functionality from drives connected to a disabled controller].
e.g.
PnP/PCI CONFIGURATION
PCI IDE 2nd Channel : Enabled
In
“STANDARD CMOS SETUP”
Set all drives to “Auto”
e.g.
Primary Master : Auto
Primary Slave : Auto
Secondary Master : Auto
Secondary Slave : Auto
And make
“Reset Configuration Data : Enabled”
This will re-detect all hardware, make new non-conflicting resource allocations and re-lock the settings by putting the setting back to:
“Reset Configuration Data : Disabled”
Remember to go to “Save & Exit Setup” and change the “N” to a “Y” then [Enter].
I'm making the assumption that your BIOS's settings may be similar to mine.
