Hello Everyone: I installed Quicktime and now I am sorry I did and I want to completely delete it But when I go to delete it a screen drops down and says IF YOU COMPLETELY DELETE QUICKTIME YOU MAY HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ONE OR MORE OF YOUR PROGRAMS THAT YOU WANT TO RUN! Then it gives you a Choice to delete only PART OR ALL! Why didn't they say this when I installed it then I would not have bothered! Anyone out there know what this means and is it alright to Completely delete it? ALSO HOW TO DELETE IT? I need slow and specfic instructions because (like I said before) I am not too smart (some friends say) Borderling STUPID AND THERE MY FRIENDS (DUH)

hi

you never "delete" anything (except icons)

if it doesn't have it's own uninstall program>

go to Control Panel>> Add Remove Programs>> highlight QuickTime>> uninstall/remove.

Hi SEA: It does have its own uninstall but I wanted to know what the drop down screen meant by IF YOU UNINSTALL COMPLETELY YOU MAY HAVE TROUBLE WITH ONE OR MORE OF YOUR PROGRAMS!

That's their way of convincing you to keep the program. I ignore that portion, un-install as my choice, and nothing goes up in smoke. If your system was working descent before their program came along it'll work descent after the un-install. Luck.

Basically it means that if you unistall it and you go to a website that has Quicktime streaming media you'll get an error message (problem with IE or Netscape)...and maybe even a request for it to be installed or even just installed (you have set install on demand to at least ask before installing???)

TomTom: I have QuickTime 4..have no idea where or when the program came in. (There was a time that I had to "share" my puter!) In any case, all that happens to me from time to time is that a message pops up and wants me to "upgrade" on some sites. I just close it out (do the same on that Macromedia thing) and proceed.
