While perusing the web, AVG Free Edition threw up a full-screen warning
alert about a Trojan Horse in my Temp Int Files. I pressed the Print Screen key to capture it just for the record, but it wouldn't transfer to the Clipboard. It seems like it's not possible to do this - or is it?

Hmmmm........... Never really tried. I wonder if "shift/print screen" would work? or one of the screen capture programs out there?

Could be a useful pic to have for demonstration ( or to give someone heart failure!).

In my experience, Print Screen copies the screenshot to the clipboard. You then need to go into a graphics program (Paint will do just fine) and then just paste.

What I use to capture/print a screen shot/page is a program called PDF995
( http://www.pdf995.com )

This is a free/shareware PDF printer. Great for capturing what you want.

If not registered (and working Off Line)it will try to connect to the advertisers page on hte net - just cancel the attempt.

Whilst connected it will open the advertisers page up, you can then close this page down.

If you register it gets rid of this niggle. Un-registered it has no restrictions. Another couple of pdf programs available as well. Great wee program. Works all versions of windows

Paul: The image doesn't get as far as the Clipboard - it's blank.
When AVG flashes up such warnings, it seems to stop anything else from operating on the computer. As an example, I downloaded a harmless ELCAR test e-mail, and saved it to disc. After doing a routine virus scan, AVG detected this mail and displayed a warning. I left the file as it was, and attempted (out of interest) to 'shred' it. AVG wouldn't let me do it, againg displaying a warning. In fact, it wouldn't let me anything to the mail at all; if I tried a single left click the screen
went black and the warning was displayed. In the end I let AVG 'quarantine' it and delete it from there.
David: Never heard of using Shift in this context, only Print Screen
or Alt/Print Screen. What does Shift do?

That full screen warning is very dramatic. I used to get it but I get this one in XP! Possibly DOS related??

I ALWAYS forget to add the 'Basics'!!
Am running 98SE.

Yeah, in 98 I think it is a DOS screen....you would need a DOS screen capture running background to grab it.
