Counter-strike 1.5 Mod for Halflife Original package no work

I have the VERY FIRST release of half-life the very old original one. On my old computer (win98) the CS1.5 mod worked fine. Now on my new pc (winxp) I installed HL then downloaded CS1.5 and tried to run it. When I click on Counter-Strike it brings up half life with the option of the console in the top left. So I tried going to internet games and connectiong obviously it didn't work but there was something new in the top right corner I didn't see on the other computer. That is a "WON" logo in the top right and the list of servers looked all funky and different. How can I fix this. I NEED TO PLAY COUNTER-STRIKE. I played at my friends house the other day and went 0 for 10. I used to go 10 for 0. HELP PLEASE! thanks

When I play Counter Strike I never use the server search engine that came with the game. Instead I use Gamespy or All seeing eye game searches. I really like the All seeing eye engine cause it can tell you if you have the map installed that is playing on the server and has all the stuff that Gamespy does. The Won logo has been added to tell you that all games now have to be authenticated before joining cause of key issues.

Gamespy arcade doesn't have COunter-Strike as being on my PC. help

Ok I forgot to add that, dont use gamespy Arcade download the normal gamespy. I would give you the url for the download but Im at work and they filter game sites. So get rid of gamespy Arcade, I never liked it. I can help you again more when I can get to my comp at home.

Are you running the update for HalfLife its HL-1110, start up CS, it will say in the bottom right hand corner of the first screen.

Whoops ... on the last computer it didn't work either when I first installed in and downloaded. i downloaded so much that i for got what I was downloading. I had to download both patches and CS then another CS patch... o well:rolleyes:

I just installed Windows XP and I am having problems reinstalling Counter-Strike retail. Dont know why? Some kind of error... what a bummer.
