A friend sent me some 120 and 80mm 24V case fans from Germany. I couldn't get them to function then I realized that regular case fans are 12V are they not? What can I use these for. They're excellent Pabst fans.

Yep, our Power Supply Units put out +3.3V, +5V, and +12V...
Sounds like a hassle if you want to use these. You could possibly find an independent 24V transformer...

Or use them in a creative kinetic art display....:D
But seriously folks.... I believe I read here before that if you run a fan at less that its rated voltage, it will simply run slower. Does anyone know if that is true???
It should work that way, but there may be a threshold leve that it needs to be able to run at all.

Get your power from the blue pin 12 (-12v) and yellow pin 10 (+12v) leads on the power supply leads to the motherboard. This will give you 24 volts. You will need to determine which wire on the fan to connect to which wire to get it to flow the way you want.
