dismal performance

Hi. I need some help sorting out the dismal performance of my computer as I'm way over my head with this. I have 3 hard drives as described below and would like to be doing some video editing if I can ever get this sorted out. Benchmarks below are from Sisoft Sandra, which warns me of a number of things I don't know how to fix (disabled host controllers? etc.?).

Intel P4 CPU 1.5ghz
Asus P4S333
AGP PCI USB Firewire/1394/i2cSMBus

512mb DDR-SDRAM
Matrox Marvel G450 eTV
Firewire 1394 controller

Promise Ultra 100 IDE Controller
Seagate 40gb 100mhz
Maxtor 40gb 66mhz 7200rpm
Maxtor 80gb 100mhz 7200rpm,
Santa Cruz Turtle Beach sound card

Win 2000 Pro.

Drives are all on separate ide channels (80 conductor – 40 on the DVR-A03) and jumpered as “Masters.” DVR-A03 & Seagate on motherboard and the two Maxtors on the Promise Card.

Sysoft Sandra benchmarks are as follows:

Any clues on what's wrong here?
