The good news: MicroCenter has ZoneAlarm Pro 3 for sale for $25 and if you have another firewall around, you get a $10 rebate...
The bad news: I just installed it and it doesn't work. I can't get the icon to stay on the desktop. It shuts down right after I open it and the icon disappears when I pass the cursor over it. I tried reinstalling it and no go. I don't have a clue about how to proceed on this one. I wrote to ZoneAlarm tech support for help, but they indicate a 3 to 4 day turnaround which means a week or two. Any one else heave any ideas? The only other thing I can think of is that Norton AV is blocking it somehow, but I can't think of how that would be done....
Also in the bad news category: their license agreement allows them to transfer your private info if they are purchased by another company, so they don't provide any guarantee of privacy which seems real ironic for a program based on privacy. They also demand a lot of details for registration and won't let you get updates without it....
