Welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif
I am afraid there is no easy answer to that question. I just built a system similar to what you are describing and the parts came to about $500. However, it depends on what the parts are. If they are really good quality, the system could be worth more. If they are generic, it could be worth less.
Here are some typical low end (bargain hunter) prices:
1700+ Athlon XP $55
Case with Power $100
Motherboard $55
CDRW $20 after rebate
DVD $40
Floppy $10
Cables $15
DDR RAM 256 $30 after rebate
Video $40
Modem $15
40gig Hard drive $40 after rebate
WinXP Home OEM $100
Other stuff $50?
If this is a brand name system, it may actually be worth less because it will be harder to upgrade. If it comes with a warranty, it is worth a little more. Upgrading to a DVD burner should be fine with this system.
I hope this is helpful.

It all depends on which Geforce video card and which brand of RAM we're talking about here.
Budfred listed some current prices for most of your stuff, except we don't know how much to price the video or RAM at. If the RAM is generic, then of course it won't be worth much.
A GeForce2 MX video card will be worth far less than a GeForce4 Ti series of video card.
If you can, let us know some further specs for these two items.

If you use Pricewatch to find a good price, make sure you check out the vendor at www.resellerratings.com before ordering. Some of the best deals come from dealers with some of the worst ratings...
