Three Home PCs.

Computer A (printer attached) ... Computer B ... Computer MAIN

Computer B has internet access (via wireless card from Main )..

I'd like to file share and printer share between B and C. I've installed a Network PCI card to B and have CAT5 cable running the short distance between B and A (to a Linksys Ethernet Adapter on B ). I'm on XP on both A and B.

Problem: I keep getting following message : "A network cable is unplugged". I don't see where that is the case ?

Also, once the network is established will Computer B pick up net access from the now networked wireless connection to A ?

I'm primarily concerned with file share and printing now.

Thanks in advance guys, MG.:)

Are you using a straight cable or a crossover cable...from the error message I would say you aren't using a crossover cable.

You will need a crossover cable if just connecting two computers.

which I had originally had used to connect B to Linksys Dsl router before switching net access methods.........This is not sufficient ?

Thanks in advance. MG:)

NIC to router ==> patch cable

Nic to Nic ==> crossover cable
