I just upgraded to winxp home and now if i leave it alone for 10min it freezs up even the mouse and i have to shut it down by hand. I have a compaq pc was running win 98se 533mhz 256mb 30gig hd. Can some one help me with this thank you.

Sounds Like you may have Hiberation enabled
After you boot up go into control panel and select power
Disable the Hibernation

Also If yo7u did and Upgrade and Not a clean install
You may have carried a problem over from 98se

Did you check that your hardware was compatible with WinXP?
