I have a client with an older 7-Disc CD-ROM Changer. His old computer crashed and burned (no recoverable data) and so he wants to hook up this drive to his new computer. Trouble is, he doesn't have any driver software for it and there is no brand name on the drive. There is a model number listed as MCD-1020. Also, listed on the same info plate as the model number is IPC in large letters (I was unable to locate a company by that name that sells CD-ROMs) It also had what is probably a serial number listed as V333-46440. The device connects via a parallel port and was manufactured in 1995.

Does anyone have any info on such a product or could someone point me to a site that maybe lets you search by model number and/or device type? Thanks for any assistance.

I can fix that, but I'm gonna need some duct tape, an old car battery and a butter knife.

Well the drive in question was manufactured by Nakamichi (http://www.nakamichiusa.com/computer/) and they recommend using the native Windows drivers, for anything other than DOS/Win3.1.

Hi Beeker,
I did a search with google using the model number and came up with
NAKAMICHI (http://www.nakamichiusa.com/computer/) as the manufacturer.
A search at DRIVERS GUIDE (http://drivers.com/cgi-sys/cgiwrap/driver99/adclick.cgi?http://www.driverguide.com) using the model number will find you the driver for DOS/Win 3.1.

I'm too slow on the buttons, 1 minute behind MJC

Hope this helps http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
