I was having problems connecting some of our client computers to the Terminal Server using Terminal Server Advanced Client. Every time I tried to connect from the client it would generate an error in the event log of the server. The event id was 1004. I looked up Microsoft's solution to this issue (Q329888) and found that the issue is a corrupt MSLicinsing file in the client computer's registry. The solution is to use regedit to delete the file, and then restart your computer so that the file can be regenerated. I did this many times, but it never worked. I even tried reinstalling the operating system. To fix the problem I went to a client computer already on the network and saved it's MSLicensing file onto a shared drive and then imported that onto the registry of the client computer with the problem. This worked. Now my question is, can having many computers with that same licensing file on the network cause any problems? Does this break any rules that could get our company in any trouble with Microsoft? If anybody has any input I would really appreciate it. Thanks Guys.
