Hi guys,
This will probably seem like a dumb question and there is hopefully a simple answer. I have just set up a direct cable connection between my laptop running Win2k and my desktop running Win98se with a parallel cable. I have no problems with them when I connect with the laptop setup as the host, however, I cannot do it the other way around, with the desktop as the host. I believe that my problem is in not being able to log on to the laptop as the administrator from the desktop.
Could someone please explain to me how this is ackomplished? Neither computer has passwords.
I have done this: on the laptop - setting up the desktop as a USER and gone into the MEMBERS tab and selected ADD then double clicked on ADMINISTRATORS and clicked OK.
What am I missing ??
When mapping the drive, I get an error saying that the folder or computer cannot be found - please check spelling.

Thanks

You will have to add a user to the Win2K box and use the same login and passowrd when logging into the Win 98 box

Are you referring to the first Windows networking box that comes on as the computer is booting?? There is nowhere else on the 98 box that any sort of log on screen appears. Do I enter the name of the laptop in that box?

Create a use on the Win2K box use your name as the user. Lets say Roy is your name. Create a user with a name of Roy and whatever password you want.

When you log into the Win98 box use the User name of Roy and whatever password you assigned. This is required to log into the Win2K computer
