View Full Version : Better computer for recent 3D games!
I currently have a Celeron-333 (socket-370) system with 66/100MHz system bus and an AGP with max 133-MHz bus speed.
The present AGP card is i740 with 8MB SD RAM.
Presently, it freezes while playing some of the new games like DeltaForce-4 and most racing games.
How can i upgrade this system most economically to a reasonably good gaming computer?

You probably can't. You can cannabalize it for parts, but you will probably need a new motherboard, CPU and video to really get the most out of current games. Games are what drive most of computer tech and the board you have now is just too old to keep up.... Sorry....
Okay,
now if i plan to change my board and processor, what will be the right choice?

"what will be the right choice?"
1. How much can you afford to spend on cpu/mobo?
2. When you have sorted your cpu/mobo will your graphics card work on the mobo(new mobos will support AGP x4,8)?
3. Will the new mobo fit in your case?
4. New mobo may meen new memory stick(s)
5. Will your power supply unit cope?
Im a big gamer and ive just bought a Abit-NF7-S(nForce 333) and a AMD2600xp cpu, running 1GIG memory, im getting an AGPx8 graphics card just before Doom3 comes out. Cpu/mobo cost me £290(UK).
