I have lots of trouble with my computer freezing and stuff. Especially when i use Yahoo web cams. I get booted and get error messages all the time! Also occasionally get something they called a "runtime error". I have no idea what that means. Also get " this application has performed an illegal operation". I tried going through the msconfig thing and I had no idea what to disable and what not to disable. I just got a list of stuff a guy had on his and some advice about what he should disable. I am going to go through that and see if I have some of the same stuff. I have windows 98 and he has windows 98 se. Would that make a problem? I want to upgrade my Ram. Any suggestion about how much I should upgrade to? I only have 64 megs now and I do some of everything with my computer. Get so tired of freeze ups and having to reboot! How hard is it to upgrade your own ram? (i know i have to buy it). Saw some links in another thread to check out. I have IBM computer windows 98, Also have spy bot search and destroy!

Upgrading RAM is one of the easiest things you can do on your computer, but you need to know how much RAM your computer can use, what type it uses and you need to protect against electrostatic discharge. If you don't have the manual for your computer and can't find it on the web, post as much info as you can about the model and such so that we can help you find it. Your manual should tell you how much and what type of RAM you can use...
