I would like to get a laptop, but I really can't afford much. Does anyone have any recommendations on where I can get one for less? I don't need much. I don't need an OS.

Any help is appreciated.

How much less is less. I have seen them at computer sales for as little as $200 or so... Of course, they are low level Pentiums at that price. I have seen 486 machines for even less, but those are probably not much more powerful than a Palm. I saw a really nice Toshiba at a computer sale this weekend for $700. What price range are you looking for?

As inexpensive as possible. I have an extra copy of Win XP Home, so if it doesn't come with an OS, then it should be able to run XP.

Ok, that is really clear... you want a cheap laptop that is inexpensive...:) Actually the bit about having to run WinXP means that it will need to be at least something like a Pentium 300 level, although an AMD is likely to be cheaper....

Check vendors at www.resellerratings.com before you buy... a lot of the lowest priced vendors will cause you a lot of grief before you are through...
