View Full Version : 2 files not found error at startup

*High* everyone. I'm having this problem - when Windows starts up, it displays two error messages - can't find cshook.vxd and symevnt.386. The file is referred to either in the registry or in system.ini. Well, I searched for it in the registry, system.ini, win.ini, even used "startup control panel", and couldn't find anything. Any advice?

I think those are both Norton programs, look here:

Try running sysedit and looking for the wayward files (run / sysyedit / enter).

If there is a mention of them in the WIN.INI put a semi-clolon ; just before them and reboot. You should stop recieving the error messages.
