Hey
Ok, ive made my new PC, all I need to do now is connect it to the Internet. Now this may sound dumb, but I dont know what I need to do this......

Will I have to buy some sort of ethernet card or something? I know this sounds dumb, but i really dont know :S

btw I have BY 512k internet connection if that helps...

That depends on if your mobo has onboard LAN or not. If you built using new parts, I would think it does. All you gotta do is look for the RJ45 port (looks like a phone jack but wider) on the back of your PC in the I/O section. Depending on the config of your network, you may be able to plug that directly into the modem box from your ISP or into a hub/router/whatever.

Once the hardware is connected, you should be able to establish a new internet connection in Windows (slightly different in various versions of Windows). Again, this depends on if your ISP gave you software and whatnot. Regardless, it should have given you things like an IP address and other settings (call and ask if not).

Call your ISP to get more info and then post back. Someone will then be able to help you further.
