I currently have 128mb rdram and a geforce 2 mx 32mb gfx card.

I am going to upgrade to 512 rdram and want to get a 128mb gfx card.

I was thinking of the GeForce 4 ti 4800. Its about £130 here in the uk which is a good price.

Any other gfx card suggestions with the price in mind?

Also plz reply with links for cheap 512 rdram and Geforce 4 Ti 4800. Person that finds it the cheapest gets a cookie!!

I read somewhere in the following forum, 128 mb cards are a waste of time. Have a gander and see if you can find any info.

First of all, welcome to the http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif

Ok, pleasantries aside, it's extremely difficult to recommend that video card these days. Better options in that price range would be the Radeon 9500 Pro or the GeForceFX 5600/Ultra. Either of those would give you more bang for your pound.

Other than that, I'm afraid I'm not up on UK vendors, so I can't do a price search for you. Sorry! :(

Do I at least get a crumb of that cookie? :p

Just as a note of precaution, cheap is not always the way to go. Check out Crucial, which is on our title page. They will make sure that the ram is right for your computer. As far as vid card, that really depends on your box. If not really new you will have hard time with the newer cards. Also on the really big cards the noise from their fans is unbelievable.
