when i try to open any program, MS Excel is automatically loaded ,even if i want to open ms paint, and the following error message is displayed.
C:\Program Files\Accessories\MS Paint.exe containing macros.




Macros may contain viruses.It is always safe to disable macros, but if the macros are legitimate, you might loose some functionality.
Disable Macros Enable Macros More Info OR

File format is not valid


plz help me diagnose the actual problem and also solution to this problem.

Have you already run security scans to make sure you don't have a virus? If you haven't, that is the place to start...
