need help with game lan

my friend envited me to help troubleshoot his game lan.
network has 7 comps with 1 central comp.
it has 2 or 3 virus, and there appear strange problems.
so i think my job is to format and install win xp again on each comp.
but i know that it need network adapter driver to be installd on each
comp and some another program for conect to internet on telephone line.
he told me that he has every neseccary programs on cd s .
so, please give me breaf instruction or plan what to do ,or give me some link.

After you do your clean install of the OS and network adapters,

Set each comp up for print and file sharing.
Give each comp a different name or number, but give the same group name to each.
If there is or are virus programs you will need to allow for those IP addresses which will be in use.
