I have a "linksys (network everywhere) ethernet card" installed on my computer. I want to install another card to use with a new DSL connection I am getting. I was never satisfied with the Linksys card. It had "known issues" that interfered with my browsing. I am not sure how to go about uninstalling the linksys card! If anyone can help me PLEASE give Step by step instructions. I am incredibly stupid(or at least this computer makes me feel that way) Do not assume I know ANYTHING. If I have the wrong forum please pardon me and send me in the right direction!I surely will appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks in advance!

First of all:

If you are STUPID, we can't help you. If you lack experience or are unsure of how to do something, someone or many people will be glad to help you.

Before completing the steps below, be sure to have

A) Your original OS CD or the location of the CAB files

B) The disk from the new NIC or download the latest drivers from
WEB and place them in a known location.

1) Go out an buy a new ethernet card. I have used more expensive cards
such as 3COM and Intel($30.00-$50.00) and I have used $6.00 generic
cards.

2) Righ click on my computer and choose properties.

3) Click on Decvice Manager

4) Click on the + sign next to network adapters

5) Single click on the Linksys adapter and click on remove.

6) Exit Device manager. If The computer asks you to re-start say
or click NO.

7) Shutdown the computer

8) Open the case and remove the NIC

9) Install the new network card.

10) Turn on computer. Windows will detect the card and for the drivers
and windows files.

11) Put case cover on and enjoy the new card....
