hi guys,
i need some help, and real fast, and i know this is the place to get it. i have a fujitsu lifebook e series laptop. i done a clean install of win 2000 on it. then decided i did'nt want 2000. so i blew the drive to put win 98se on it, i now i have run into a problem i have never seen before. oh by the way, i installed win 2000 under the nfts file system. but anyway, after i blew it, i went to format it, it tells me bad command. now, when i turn it on, it says, invalid command.com. huh? when i turn it back off, and then on again, it is there again. i can't get into the bios or nothing. it is automatically there when i turn it on. someone please help me here. i have done 1000s of systems, but have never ran across anything quite like this. thanks in advance for the help. if you need any further, please feel free to ask. i am needing to fix this pretty fast, so i will be checking back about every 15 to 30 min. thanks again DALE

I think you will find this to be an easy one: just use fdisk from a boot floppy to repartition the drive. You will need to remove the NTFS partition and then reformat as a FAT32 partition.

ok, here is an update on my progress,
i removed the battery pack for a little while. put the battery back in and it booted up normal. when it booted to the a drive, i typed in fdisk, and now it says incorrect dos version. now what do i do? getting there slowly but surely. DALE

I am not sure what is going on that fdisk won't work, but I would probably go to the website for the drive and download the utilities, then use the zero fill utility on the drive. I believe that this will remove the NTFS file system in the process and then you should be able to fdisk. If you still can't, I would try a different boot floppy.
