Well I read one of the articles and got my answer-
Five months of preparation It took five months of production and design work before "Cog" was ready to shoot. Then the real work began. In the course of a week in a Paris studio, crews agonized through 605 takes. Every time, something went wrong -- a rolling gear missed its mark, the oil can poured too much or too little oil, the disembodied windshield wipers did not come to life with a squirt of liquid as planned.
Finally, on the 606th take, the amazing assembly worked.

It reminded me of the game mousetrap taken to the extreme. I loved it.

I'm just out for a cruise on my new broadband connection from a 53.333k baud dial up connection.
I looked at the link with dial up earlier and got lots of pauses 'while loading'. Tried it again and it just ran! Immediately! http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/icons/icon6.gif
How do those tires run 'up' that ramp anyway
Oh well, gotta go...

The tires are weighted with bolts and screws inside them. They put just enough weight inside with just enough of an incline and put the weight at just enough degrees off center...
If you watch carefully, you'll notice that after the tires have gone their specified distance, they kind of wobble back and forth a bit as the weighted part wants to get to the bottom.

I've developed mental pictures of many of the regulars here. Of course, most of you prolly look totally different than what I imagine.

When I see your nickname, I think of a Radiohead song called "Killer Cars." Which brings to mind Thom Yorke.
Which, of course, leads right back to
