3 or 4 times now while my using my PC without any problems it starts making a constant two tone beeping like a siren from my tower..
It carrys on running fine but is too noisy, so i shut it down normally and re boot and it is fine..
Is this a serious problem or has anyone got any ideas???

Hello Mr Pickle,
Welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!
Your siren sound appears to be a heat warning!
Would you tell us about your system, processor, etc.? Is this a system you built yourself? Is this something that started recently?
This is not a good situation if it is heat related! You could possibly do serious damage to your processor and motherboard. So, I would suggest not rebooting and running it until you've explored some troubleshooting with us...

Thanks for the help.....
I thought it was an overheat alert but not sure..I don't know what system it is but i opened it and cleaned all the fans and boards with great care...It was not suprising it was over heating with the amount of crap in there...It seems to be running fine now and thanks again..

Sounds like you caught things in time! ;)
It's just a good idea to put your computer on a regimented schedule for cleaning. Depending on what environmental factors you have to deal with (e.g., pets, etc.) schedule appropriately...
I picked up some Air Conditioning filter material that I cut into pieces. It fits under the front bezel of my computer where the air intake is located. It seems to catch the majority of junk that would normally coat the Motherboard fan blades etc.,
I can either wash the piece every month or simply replace. I think the piece of AC filter cost me $3.00 from Home Depot and there's enough to last me a few years...
It's just one of those necessary evils following the Adamic curse! :p
