My Grandson and his Cousin where trying to find a games programme yesterday morning and a nasty thing started to down load. Namley "BLACK SNAKE" They pannicked and did a hot shut down and called my Grandsons Uncle who blew a gasket. He reported it to the SP provider and they gave him a list of addresses to down load anti spam. Phillip has deleted it from the PC, but is concerned it might still be resident somwhere. Obviously we do not want it to re-occur any help would be appreciated. The PC is an old one running Windows `95.
The people who do these things should be lynched or something

If you are looking for what to do to check for it and make sure it is gone, I would go to mjc's security thread (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15179) and download Spybot and/or AdAware, Hijack This and the trial version of Trojan Hunter; then run them. I would also do an online virus scan even if they are already running a virus scanner. Once it is all clean, I would install one of the free firewalls to keep it from happening again.
