I am network administrator for a company with about 100 users all on Win2K Pro. All users use profiles (to make my job easier). However, one user, who just happens to be the payroll processor, when attempting to use Hyper Terminal to send payroll info out for processing had the following error returned. Keep in mind that there has been no changes to the workstation for serveral months and payroll submission has occurred twice a month without incident until now. The error window is:
"BCBSM - Hypererminal: HYPERTRM.EXE - Application Error
"The instruction at '0x77f821e1' referenced memory at '0x00000034'. The memory could not be 'read'.
"Click on OK to terminate the program
"Click on CANCEL to debug the program"
Now if this were some grunt user I could work on this when I get a chance to but this is the payroll guy and I want to get paid.
Seriously, the error occurs when the user is logged into the network. When I log in as Administrator the error does not occur (and I was able to submit payroll - thankfully).
Does anyone have any ideas of where to begin troubleshooting?
