I have two computers. THe host computer connects with a linksys cable modem and is running Win XP. The other has a linksys 10/100 and is running Win98. They are connected with 25ft of crossover cable out of XP machine into a rj45 coupler to 14ft of Cat5e into the 98 machine. I have used the setup wizard for the peer to peer network and followed the instructions using the WinXP disc to run the wizard on the 98 machine. I can see a icon for the 98 machine in the XP machine, but cant see the host XP machine in the 98 machine. whew!

What I would like to do is set up my little network to share the internet access with the Win98 machine.

Any place on the net that will hold my hand and show a Sesame St "How To" lesson to walk me through this?

Thanks!

Can you post info about wich choices you selected from the Network set up wizard? Also check google/ Networking XP and 98. Have you rebooted both PCs after running setup? Do you have the XP machine Shared? You can right click on the C drive in my Computer and enable sharing so that the 98 can see the XP. When you click on the 09 icon in XP can you see the contents of the Share?
Just some thoughts,
FH

"When you click on the 09 icon" Should be
When you click on the 98 icon in XP

OK, I figured out where the problem is coming from. It is my zone alarm firewall. WHen zonealarm is on, I cant use the second computer to get online. When zonealarm is off, I can share the internet connection no problem.

ANyone know how to tell zonealarm to allow my second computer to access the internet?

Thanks for all the help!

I currently have version 3.7.159. I assume that this is the most recent version because I downloaded it just a couple of days ago.

THanks for all the help. You guys are lifesavers!
