System information:
Mother board DFI P2XLX Rev. AH+
BIOS Award Modular BIOS V4.51PG
BIOS Date 3/4/98
BIOS String i440LX-2A69JD49C-00
192 or 384MB crucial PC100 ECC CAS 2 SDRAM 128MB 168 pin DIMM X3
Processor Intel PII MMX 333MHz
A:Generic Floppy Drive
B:None
C:15GB Western Digital 7200 RPM Pri Master
D:8GB Quantum 5400 RPM Pri Slave
E:Iomega Zip CD CDRW Drive
F:Toshiba DVDROM Drive
OS Windows 98

I recently purchsed some new RAM and when I installed it my BIOS only reads
half of it, it is reading 128MB DIMMs as 64MB
My system supports ECC and CAS 2 the only problem that I can see is that it is PC100 and my system has a 66MHz bus but I thought that I could use faster RAM (without added benefit).Everything else is running fine on the system just missing RAM. Talked to Crucial via e-mail they said that I should buy PC66 non ECC SDRAM But they won't take the PC100 back IS there any thing that i can do to make my BIOS read all 384MB

Ok, do the other specs check out...like the density or the RAM, maximum per slot?

System Board User's Manual Says in the features section:

"The system board supports 8MB to 384MB using unbuffered SDRAM or EDO memory. It is equipped with three 168-pin DIMM sockets using x64/x72 EDO (50/60ns or SDRAM (10/12/13ns), 3.3V. It also supports EC and ECC (uses x72 DRAM)."

The DIMM modules that I installed were:
168-pin 16MBx72 9ns 3.3V ECC SDRAM

go into MSCONFIG look at the bottom of the dialog box for an " advanced " tab, click it, then you'll see a bunch of options for advanced ( read experianced ) users.
Look for one one that says "limit memory to..., make sure it is unchecked.

How much memory does the BIOS show that you have, when all sticks are installed?

CHIPSET FEATURES SETUP On, this page of your BIOS what is showing under the SDRAM CAS Latency Time and DRAM Data Integrity Mode headings...

OS Select for DRAM > 64MB
This item allows you to access the memory that is over 64MB in
OS/2. The options are: Non-OS/2 and OS/2.

Hi;

I don't know if this helps, but the users manual states the following;

"The system board is equipped
with three 168-pin DIMM (Dual
In-line Memory Module)
sockets. It supports 8MB to
384MB memory using x64/x72
unbuffered SDRAM or EDO
DIMM, 3.3V.
The system board supports the
Error Checking and Correction
that supports parity. That is, DIMM that typically has 9 memory
chips per side. This kind of module has 8 standard memory cihps
and a parity chip. DIMM with no parity has 8 standard memory
chips only."

I notice that the Crucial web site does not specifically show ram for your board. Did you e-mail them your system specs before you bought the ram? Maybe others can comment about these specs that have more knowledge in this area.
