Welcome Nocturne,

Does your motherboard/mainboard support 333Mhz?

If it does then the mix of bandwidth between the 2500 and the RAM should only be a problem in that you will not get the full speed out of the processor. You will have effectively bottlenecked your system with the 266Mhz RAM.
It will be slower than its potential.

yes my morherboard support 333mhz.
I have ausus a7v8x.
Can I run the cpu on its original clock frequences? Will the memory be overclocked if i do?

How big performance difference will i get?

I think that with this board that you can't run the CPU and memory at different speeds (so I've read). Someone else may be able to confirm this for sure.

The speed difference in Mhz by my calculator will be 67Mhz.

If that is all right then live with it.
Otherwise get the PC2700 or better.

Since your RAM and FSB won't be running at the same speed, your system as a whole will take a performance hit. How big this is will depend on the apps you use. If you surf the web, it will be very small, almost unnoticeable. If you play high-end games, you'll be hurting!

Your choice really, but even PC2700 RAM is down to about $55 per 512MB stick.
