My son has picked up a modem for his GameCube (it is a dial-up modem) and wants to try some on-line gaming with Phantasy Star.

AOL will not work with this set-up. He wants me to ask of the gaming Gurus which of the ISPs will allow point-to-point?

We're trying to get a freebie introductory offer to see how it goes...

I actually don't like the idea much...because he'll tie up the computer phone line...and I won't be able to get on...:(

When I was playing Quake online with my Dreamcast a few years ago, I signed up for SegaNet. SegaNet folded, and my account was sold to EarthLink, and that's what I used.

I can use prodigy(which now is yahhoo something or other) to play Age of Empires online.

Maybe contacting the few ISPs you see in this thread and asking if they allow dialing into game servers will help.

I would guess though, that if they allow dialing to any game servers they would allow dialing to all game servers.
