HELP!! urgent question about program.exe

Hi, I recently bought a book named PC HARDWARE for class work but the CD-ROM included does not work with my computer. Every time I tried to run it there is an error message: Windows cannot find program.exe. This program is needed for operating files of type "MPG.file". I tried to search the web but to no avail. Could anyone here help me solve this program? I would really appreciate it!!

Hey Give this a shot!

Take the disc out of the drive. Put it back in while holding down the
shift key. This keeps the disc from autostarting......Now, double click the my computer icon on your desktop. Then double click on your cd-rom drive that contains the disc, and look for a setup file,(usually a computer icon, (application)) double click on it. This should start the setup process........

Thanks a lot JD! I just learned the real problem causing this mystery and it is actually simpler than it seems. My old Windows Media Player does not support MPG files. At my professor's suggestion I downloaded the lates 7.1 WMP and it works perfectly. -KW
