Hello everybody,
I am having a problem with a small network at the public library. Both computers are sharing an internet conection via a LAN/Modem-Router.
* 1 generic Win 98 box & 1 Gateway WinXP box.Both computers can
* access the internet with no problem after the gateway PC has initialized a connection through the dual modem: however the Generic PC can access the internet only after the Gateway has and can not get acces when the Gateway is off.
Sounds like a matter of simple settings on either the Router/Modem or on the PC itself. I am really not sure what to look at.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction on this one.
Oh Yeah, they do not have the password to the Router/Modem.
Happy 13th

What kind of lan/router-modem are you using?
Are both computers connected to it or are you using ICS?

Hi Ghost Hacker. The Lan Modem is a 3Com model that has both PCs interfaced to it. I have not been on site in a while but belive that it also has a Network printer hooked to it.
Let me know if you want more info. I may have to go back on site if the problem persists.
Thanks, FH
