Hi folks,
I just found the soscfe.dll trojan on my daughters computer while doing a Norton A/V scan. Norton says it cant be repaired. I downloaded the trial version of Trojan Hunter but this one isn't in their list.
What do I do with this thing?
Any more details about it?
Try scanning in Safe Mode.
Also, please copy it and zip it, I would like to have it for my collection...

Norton has no info. Can't find anything on google. I had a listing in ZA to "run dll as an app". I put a stop to that.
If you want it, you can have it. Just let me know how...

Have a look at "Swat IT" you can get a freeware version form here. Preety good trojan hunter.
It only has one drawback and that is that you have to run in manually, which is maybe not a bad thing. Also remember to check for updates on a regular basis.
This will allow you to search and find and give you path to it allowing you to save it to floppy and zip it up for sending on. Then do second scan and delete it.

Thanks Ernie, I'll check it out.
All is well now. It deleted, easily, in safe mode. I sent it off to mjc for his collection. Strange hobby...;)
I wonder where that little bugger came from, though.
There are a couple of other people and myself who collect these and pass them on to several developers of AV/AT/Antispyware apps..
We've had a bunch of new spyware crap the last few weeks, a couple of undetectd trojans too.
PS: Looks like you have NAV email protection enabled....it cleaned the zip .

It couldn't clean it off the computer but it could clean the e-mail?
It couldn't clean it on the computer because it was in use....
