Hi everyone,

Currently i use the Windows Firewall, however I used to use ZoneAlarm, but don't so much anymore as it is easily not configurable. I would like a firewall that I can allow network users to access files, but protect other ports... I would also like a good log and monitor.
Does anyone know of a good firewall that you can easily cusomise ports (and that you know you are customising). I have used BlackICE, ZA, MS Standard XP Firewall, Norton Internet Security. What do you sugest is best? I might look at symantec's corporate firewalls, anyone got any suggestions.
All i am after is a really secure firewall that I have complete control over and it is easy to understand etc...

Thanks,

Olie

Tinyfirewall is liked by a lot of folks. Outpost is another one that I heard about from some of the guys here.

MJC's sig( or just go to his web site) has links to 'em.

You should look into getting a Watchguard Firebox. Thats what I use and I love it.

I agree with baller360!!

I have been using a Watchguard Firebox for 6 months now and it is far superior in terms of ease of use than anything I have used before.

Plus, the one I am using provides secure VPN access which allows IT Support staff/remote users access to our network when working offsite.
