I keep on reformating because I feel that my drives is becoming too messy. ie: when I install programs like AVG and Zonealarm they have so much drivers and other things that make my programs folders looks messy and stuff. So should I make separate folders for each program instead of bunching them all together inside the program files?
BTW now I know that I shouldn't install game's files with program's because it will be very hard to uninstall later on:)
I'm still waiting for the day that M$ finally make the most stable OS so that no more BOSD or Errors:(
PS: I want to try Linux but heard its really hard to install and configure:(
Thanx anyway:)
If you keep formatting because of the directory and sub directory structure
You are wasting your time and effort
Each program should have it’s own folder ( Directory = Folder )
Program files
-----------------Program one
---------------------Subfolder
---------------------Subfolder
---------------------------sub to Subfolder
---------------------------sub to Subfolder
---------------------------------sub sub to Subfolder
-----------------Program two
---------------------Subfolder
------------------------- sub to Subfolder
----------------------------------sub sub to Subfolder
----------------------------------------Sub Sub Sub to Subfolder
-----------------Program three
---------------------Subfolder
--------------------------sub to Subfolder
This is normal without doing it this way
You would be over writing files
By using the Program Folder as a start point
it will help you in Finding their folders to allow installing direct patches and if needed removing them later NOT hinder you
A Good idea for games and or programs that you install / uninstall a lot
I have found it works best to put them on a second drive or partition
It will help reduce fragmentation of your permanently installed programs and files
