Will the cycles of supply line voltage affect the operation of the computer? Like 60Hz vs 50Hz since it's converted to DC anyway. So will the cycles make a difference?

If smoothing is used on the rectifier/regulator then mains frequencies have absolutely no bearing on the DC output.
Some cheap electronics (usually cheap LCD clocks) use mains frequency to determine timing, which means differing the mains frequency causes the time to slow down/speed up if frequency is reduced/increased.
Ive not heard of it being a factor in computer components.
If you are talking about a setting on a power supply...then yes, it needs to be set for the frequnecy that is used in your locale.

Just checked a couple of oldish PSUs I had laying about, and the label on one specifies and input range of 110-250 volts, 25 - 75 Hertz. Voltage selector switch is only to change from 110-150 volt range to 200- 250.
With a switch mode PSU, the input frequency has no effect on the output as the first thing that happens inside the supply is that the input AC is rectified.

I have one old one that the 50Hz is tied to the 220 volt setting....that is why I said what I said.

Thanks to everyone for their input. :)

MJC, I stand corrected!! I must admit, I have never encountered a PSU with that restriction. I wonder why???
David
Not sure either...maybe just something that particular manufacturer does to save on labeling costs?
It was the PSU from my HP...cheap piece of junk it was.....:D
