To Anyone that can help,
I was installing a new cpu fan today and a screwdrive slipped and hit the motherboard pretty hard. Now the computer turns on but the screens are blank, not even BIOS. Im thinking in damaged the motherboard when i struck it, if anyone can confirm, deny, or give any suggestion id really appreciate it.
thanx

Welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif
I am guessing you are right, but there is no way to know without quite a bit more testing. You could have either broken circuits with the screwdriver or you could have created a static spark that fried something.
To test, start with a barebones boot. Disconnect all drives and remove all but one stick of RAM. Keep video, case speaker, keyboard and power attached. Try a boot and see if you at least get a POST beep. If not, take the motherboard out of the case on a nonconductive surface (like a piece of cardboard) with the same minimal boot and try it. If still dead, it is likely that either the motherboard and/or CPU is bad. The only way I know to test them is swapping with a compatible system.
Since you were also messing with the CPU fan, make sure the CPU is properly seated, the CPU fan is plugged into the motherboard and all connections are good.
If you get POST, post back here and we can help you test further.

Thanks
I already tried most of those tests, unfortunately i am not even getting a beep. Don't think it matters much though, ill just go over to frys and pick up a new board and chip
again, thanks anyways for the advice
