This is perhaps slightly off topic, however I am trying to turn an old ATX power supply into a simply 12V bench supply for a workshop. While sorting out the 12V, 5V and ground leads is no problem, these power supplies also required a power good signal to keep the PSU running. Given that I have a grey(Power on/off) lead, an orange (Power Good lead) and a violet (Power Standby lead) left after I sort out the power leads, does anyone have any ideas how to wire in the remaining leads to effectively "jump start" the PSU and keep it running.

regards

Thanks for the reply,

but Green?? I dont have a green wire running to the P1 block. Other than the reds, blacks and yellow the only colours left are blue( -12V?),
Violet (+5VSB?), Orange (Pwr Good?), White (+5v?) and grey (Power supply remote on/off?).

I initially tried simply grounding the power on/off and while that starts the unit, it switches off quite quickly. Linking the 5V to the power good to try and fool the system doesn't seem to work either.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks
