View Full Version : re: please help with monitor problem
I installed a software which was giving me some problems.
I was advised to reduce the display specs i.e to 16bit color.
Now I can't revert back to 32 bit/true colour or higher.
Please help.

Once you got into the Advanced sec. did you put a check in the restart the computer before applying setting? if you did,? you might want to play around with the refresh rate?? if its telling you the adapter is not right???? You need to check out your other post that bassman posted for you he knows more about the inner workings than I. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
Please note my other thread is closed.
It has Zero replies.
I Origionally posted message to wrong discussion group.
i.e General/How do I???
So I corrected this with Trouble Shooting/System Trouble Shooting news group so that the correct interested people view and thus reply to message.

OK Dek, I see that the moderator has moved some stuff around. I had originaly posted a response that might help.
It sounds like something happened to your video drivers, you may need to download updated drivers from your vid card manufacturers website. With these in hand (if needed) start your computer in "safe mode", go to "Device Manager", find your display adapter, and remove it. Reboot your system and let it find and reinstall the display adapter. If it asks for drivers, you have them in hand, most likely it won't. Once all up and installed, if you still have the display problem, install updated drivers.
Post back and let us know how it goes. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif

2) To get to device mangler,
A) Right click on my computer
B) Left click on properties.

Good luck.
I am unable to view any post past the one posted by bassman on Posted 08-31-2001 09:58 AM.
This could be due to my graphics display running on low spec?
Or problem with web sys setup to display pages past a certain number of replies?
NB I can view post like the one authored by DBUR0727 titled "my wife dropped it" which has 13 replies on this PC but not my own.
This is very peculiar and has me foxed.
Whilst viewing the post at another premises during the day I was able to see the post past bassman's.
Please could someone either copy and paste post to my mail account at
saa3@elec.qmw.ac.uk
or suugest how I can view the post.
