Unrecognized USB connection

The device manager is not showing the USB device. I have tried to load a generic one with no luck. Obviously anything connected via USB does not work. Is this a problem with the BIOS set up or what? The printer has worked previously on this computer,

Hi - welcome aboard!
I assume that you've tried to install a printer on the USB port, but have nothing showing.
The first thing to do if you don't see ANY USB ports is to check the bios - make sure that USB support is enabled. Make sure you disconnect the printer before you do this, as it will only complicate matters.

WHat OS are you using? Which drivers do did you load? Unload the ones you installed, so that you're back to a fresh start. Are you using an add-in card for the USB, or is it a reasonably modern system which supports USB directly?

Checked the BIOS to find usb disabled! Thanks for your help.
