Got Os version 3.51 from a friend it was his ex's from a few years ago all water under the bridge. he was going to throw it out but gave it to me.My question would be can I use or would this be copyright infringement? Hate to throw it out always good to have Os's laying around. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi Yoda,

If this OS is not installed on your friends or his ex's computer, you are quite entitled to use it. When you buy or receive second hand software, you are basically buying or receiving the license to use that software.

Don't know if it will be that easy with XP though. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif

Hey Yoda,
Sounds like fun. If you have an older machine to put it on, you might have a good time with it. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif
I found THIS (http://support.microsoft.com/support/servicepacks/WinNT/3.51/) ,something you might be interested in. Did not find the HCL though. You might try that before you load it on something.
I am not sure when 4.0 came out but, a lot of the newer style hardware that came out after that may not work with 3.51 http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif
Good luck

If I tell you to think for yourself, then you're not doing it.
This is not directed at those asking questions in order to gain knowledge. That shows you are thinking.
