At first I couldn't make out what was happening:
When I typed in the URL for Real.com and pressed Enter, IE6 immediately shut down and I was returned to the Desktop. I tried again and again with the same result, but any other URL worked fine.
I can't remember how, but I discovered that AdWatch 3 was treating the Real site as if it were a 'Popup', and promptly supressing it. When I disabled AdWatch I was able to load the Real page as normal. At first I thought the trouble was with IE6 itself.
But why should this only happen to Real.com - doesn't AdWatch like the site?

Real has a reputation for making their access real messy and maybe it is configured as a popup... I know some programs let you override the popup protection by pressing the "shift" key while you are hitting ENTER to go to the URL. You could try that or look in AdWatch's HELP to see what they have as an equivalent....

For some fun reading type "real.com spyware" into Google.

If AdWatch maintains a list of of blocked servers, you will have to find thr Real.com listing and remove it.

The most likely reason is that Real is frequently a popup...

This problem has only occured during the last couple of days, for the two programs have lived happily side-by-side right from the start. Anyway I resolved it by uninstalling and reinstalling Real Player because, in the end, AdAware wouldn't even let me run Real Player at all!

However, I have another problem with Real Player (basic version); when I save a streaming sound clip via 'Streambox VCR' (the latter records in MPEG2) Real Player (originally) said it needed new software to play it. So it contacted the site, then listed a MP3 plugin. But when I clicked to download it, nothing happened - time and time again.
Since reinstalling Real Player, now when I try to play MPEG2 it says 'buffering', then locks up completely - and resists a number of attempts to close it down. Can Real Player actually play MPEG2?
'Total Recorder' won't play MPEG2 either, Windows Media Player v6.4 is the only Player I possess that does.
