I've just built a new system on a asrocks M810LMR mobo. Installed win200pro and everythings hunky dory...except..

The USB ports aint working!

The show up fine in device manager and are enabled in bios.

I attach a usb device and nothing happens...

Any advice would be appreciated :)

What USB device did you try?? Are you sure the device works? Have you tried more than one USB port?? Are you using front or back ports??

I tried a usb pen drive and a scanner - both work fine on my other w2k machine.

I had attached the front ports and covered usb ports 2 and 3 (as they are disabled when the front ports are used) Because they did not work I tried the back ports - no joy. I then unattached the front ports, but still no joy with the back ports.

I have flashed the bios, but no change to the usb situation...

Well it seems like 4 possibilities to me:

1. The board is bad... Take it back and exchange...

2. The USB devices you are testing with are not working for some reason, try other devices...

3. The USB driver installed is not working with Win2K, Remove in Safe Mode and make sure you get Win2K drivers installed...

4. It is something I am not thinking of, wait for someone else who has some ideas to show up...:D

Does the USB show up in Device Manager?

Is it enabled in BIOS? Is legacy USB support enabled in BIOS? What are the BIOS USB options?
