Hi all,

I have recently purchased a used satellite laptop which has win2k and office xp installed. I am always paranoid about crashes and because I did not get any disks with it, was wondering what would be the best way to backup/recover this system in the event of a crash !! I have it networked to my desktop. If I create an image on the desktop, how can I restore it without any way of starting and creating the network ties on the laptop?
I am familiar with win98 but have had nothing to do with win2k until now. This adminisrator/user thing will take some getting used to. From what I have read in the past, I've thought that win2k would probably be the best OS to have - any opinions on that ?

The laptop should have a CD drive. If you use Norton Ghost to make the image you should be able to burn it one or more CDs and then restore the image from the CDs.
